Uttar Pradesh: Forest officials use urine-soaked dolls to catch wolves

The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified 'Operation Bhediya', deploying over 300 forest rangers, snipers, sector-based strategies and drones to capture the wolves after the animal killed 10 people and injured several others in Mahsi Tehsil Bahraich.

To catch the wolves, the state forestry department has come up with a unique technique. The foresters now use dolls soaked in human urine near the river bank to attract the man-eating wolves.

However, the new technique has not yielded any positive results. The operation was carried out in 25 villages in Mahsi tehsil of Bahraich and left over 50,000 residents living in fear, said a report in News18.
