Man charged with murder after fatal stabbing in rural Manitoba: RCMP

A 33-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing in northeastern Manitoba, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Manitoba.

Shortly before midnight on September 2, Mounties in Shamattawa responded to a report of a stabbing at a community home.

Officers went to the community health center, where a 35-year-old man was taken by paramedics and succumbed to his injuries.

On September 4, officers were able to arrest 33-year-old Michael Mander Redhead and charge him with first-degree murder.

Police believe that Redhead and the stabbed man knew each other before the stabbing.

The investigation is ongoing.
