Charges filed in Quinte West stabbing

The Quinte West OPP has filed charges in connection with a stabbing in the City of Quinte West.

The suspect was located and charged on Wednesday by Quinte West OPP officers and members of the Quinte West OPP Criminal Investigation Unit.

Justin Lyons, 38, of Trenton, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On Tuesday, shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers were called to an apartment where a 34-year-old man was found with stab wounds and taken to a regional trauma center.

The suspect had fled the crime scene.

Lyons remains in custody. A bail hearing is scheduled at the Ontario Court Justice in Belleville.
