Politicians mourn four soldiers killed in road accident in Sikkim

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday expressed their deep condolences over the tragic death of four army personnel in a road accident in Pakyong district of Sikkim, stressing that the nation owes a debt of gratitude to its brave soldiers.

According to police reports, the incident occurred when a vehicle carrying EMC personnel from Binnaguri, West Bengal, skidded off the road at Vertical Bhir along the Rhenock-Rongli highway and fell into a forest. All four occupants died on the spot.

The victims were identified as Sepoy Pradip Patel from Madhya Pradesh, CFN W Peter from Manipur, Naik Gursev Singh from Haryana and Subedar K Thangapandi from Tamil Nadu. The politicians mourned their deaths and paid tribute to them as brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice. In several statements, Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved families and stressed that the country will forever be indebted to them for their service and sacrifice.
