Sony wants to force its way through the wall

The release of the PS5 shooter Concord ended in an unprecedented disaster for Sony. The company is currently getting the next live service game in position – but it is still important to learn from the shooter flip.

A commentary by Gregor Elsholz

If I had been there when the Titanic sank in 1912, the disaster would have provoked strong emotional reactions in me – from Shock, sadness and even pity I would certainly have had a hard time dealing with it.

It would have taken a long time before I even felt again near a ship I would have dared to do it – and I would probably have stayed away from the construction for even longer.

The Titanic comes to mind right now because the PS5 release of the Multiplayer shooter Concord It was such an unbelievable disaster – and shortly after the sinking, Sony was already designing the cabins for the next luxury liner.

Fairgame$: Sony is getting its next live service shooter ready

Just shortly after the PS5 shooter Concord was one of the most spectacular gaming belly flop of all time, Sony is already focusing on the next live service game, Fairgame$. As can be heard in the podcast GI Microcast, Sony is internally confident about the chances of the upcoming live service shooter Fairgame$ goes.

There is a lot of praise from within the club and insider Christopher Dring claims that PlayStation will put a lot of effort into thisthat heist multiplayer could become established.

The internal positivity surrounding Fairgame$ is certainly puzzling, because after the gigantic flop of Concord, Sony's compulsive urgethrowing another popular live service game onto the already crowded market should definitely be questioned. (Source: YouTube)

Will PlayStation learn from Concord?

Especially since the first trailer of Fairgame$ has already been released in the community at best a shrug of the shoulders It is fair to say that outside of Sony, nobody is really waiting for the game.

Of course, it must be mentioned that Fairgame$ compared to Concord is a A slightly different kind of multiplayer shooter and that games cannot be justified in advance. Nevertheless, the heist game will have a hard time. Because as a time-consuming live service game, it automatically has to compete with all other endless shooters – from Overwatch 2 to Apex Legends to Fortnite.

Therefore, if I were Sony, I would first stay on the ground and not be the same again Set sail on the big seas with Fairgame$ in live service fever – At least until someone finds a guaranteed iceberg-free route.

Maybe Concord would have worked better as a free game for the PS4 and PS5 – like these 8 F2P games:
