Former Pawtucket correctional officer charged with sexual assault at Framingham prison

FRAMINGHAM, Massachusetts (WLNE) – A Pawtucket man has been charged with sexually assaulting a female inmate at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution in Framingham.

According to Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan, Gomes was charged with four counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault and battery in connection with several incidents involving a female inmate.

Gomes was also charged with three counts of supplying articles to inmates in a reformatory for allegedly purchasing underwear for more than one inmate.

Gomes was working as a correctional officer at the time.

He was arrested in his home yesterday.

A court date has not been announced.
