After overtaking manoeuvre - serious crash near Immendorf: injured person rescued via trunk

An injured person had to be rescued from the badly damaged car by the fire brigade.

EA serious traffic accident occurred on Thursday morning (5 September) after an overtaking maneuver between Immendorf and Untermarkersdorf. Three fire departments, the police, the Red Cross and an emergency helicopter arrived.

It was shortly after 10:15 a.m. when the fire departments of Wüllersdorf, Ummendorf and Untermarkersdorf were called to rescue a person on the L 1012. Two vehicles and a tractor had collided in the woods between Immendorf and Untermarkersdorf. The crash was preceded by an overtaking maneuver. “One person identified himself as still in the vehicle when we arrived and was being cared for by the first responder and the Red Cross,” reports district fire department commander Markus Zahlbrecht.

The fire brigade set up a sunshade for the injured person and had to remove some parts of the vehicle to enable rescue via the trunk lid. After the police had cleared the accident site, the fire brigade separated the three vehicles from each other and transported the most badly damaged car away. “All other successful people were able to continue the journey themselves,” said Zahlbrecht.
