Tori Spelling will appear in the 33rd season of “Dancing with the Stars.” The late Shannen Doherty encouraged her to take part.

Tori Spelling (51) will dance for victory in the 33rd season of “Dancing with the Stars”. The show “Good Morning America” announced the participating celebrities and their dance partners on Wednesday (September 4). Before Spelling, her “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty (1971-2024) was already part of the show. Spelling revealed to “People” magazine that the recently deceased actress had motivated her to take part.

“I remember she loved it”

“She definitely inspired me in life that when you commit, you really commit,” Spelling explained. Doherty encouraged her to put her energy into the competition show. Nevertheless, it was “a tough time with the show and all the excitement and the recent loss of Shan” for her. “But I remember her loving it and being totally into it,” the actress recalled.

“Beverly Hills, 90210” star and former “DWTS” contestant Brian Austin Green (51) already knew about her participation. “I kept thinking: 'I don't know. What should I do? Should I do it?' “And he said: 'You're going to be amazing,'” she described his support. Green's fiancée Sharna Burgess (39), who appeared on the show as a professional dancer, was also a help. When asked, Burgess named potential dance partners who would be a perfect match for her. Finally, the show assigned her to competitive dancer Pasha Pashkov.

These “Beverly Hills, 90210” stars were already there

By taking part in the US show, they followed other “Beverly Hills, 90210” colleagues. While Doherty, who died in July, danced in the 10th season in 2010, Green was seen in the 30th season. Ian Ziering (60) in the 4th season was followed by Jennie Garth (52) the following year. The two actors were eliminated in the semi-finals and made it the furthest compared to their co-stars.

In addition to Spelling, actor Eric Roberts (68), model Brooks Nader (27) and con artist Anna Sorokin (33) are taking part in the new season. Athletes Dwight Howard (38) and Danny Amendola (38) as well as Olympic participants Ilona Maher (28) and Stephen Nedoroscik (25) are also dancing for the trophy. They are joined by reality stars Joey Graziadei (29), Phaedra Parks (50) and Jenn Tran (26). Actors Chandler Kinney (24) and Reginald VelJohnson (72) complete the cast. According to ABC News, the 33rd season will start on September 17th on its channel and Disney+. One day later, the episodes will be available on the streaming service Hulu.
