UP: Driver 'harassed' woman in ambulance, cut off her husband's oxygen supply, leading to his death | Nation

PTC Web Desk: In a disturbing incident, a woman was allegedly harassed in an ambulance while accompanying her husband to a hospital in Uttar Pradesh. The incident was reported in Siddharthnagar district on August 30. Her husband also lost his life in the incident.

According to the information, the woman had initially taken her husband Harish to Basti Medical College after he fell ill. When his condition worsened, the doctors referred him to another hospital. Since she could not afford the private hospital charges, she decided to return home for treatment.

In the ambulance, the driver and his assistant allegedly forced her to sit in the front seat and allegedly sexually assaulted her. When she tried to protest, they allegedly turned off her husband's oxygen supply and forcibly threw them both out of the vehicle. The driver also allegedly stole her jewelry.

Her husband, who was already in critical condition, was severely affected by the interruption of oxygen supply and his health continued to deteriorate. The woman contacted her brother, who then reported the incident to the police.

Police took Harish to a hospital, but he later died. The victim has lodged an official complaint at Ghazipur police station in Lucknow. Lucknow North Deputy Director General of Police Jitendra Dubey confirmed that a case has been registered and investigation is underway.
