Shirtless, begging for his life: Viral ‘last photo’ captures what happened shortly before Renukaswamy’s murder

Karnataka Police has access to photographs of Renukaswamy pleading for mercy during his attack by Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his gang shortly before his death. A photograph of 33-year-old Renukaswamy shirtless, bearing an injury mark and looking scared, was retrieved by News18. Another photograph shows Renukaswamy lying on the ground after the attack.

The photos surfaced after the Karnataka Police filed the chargesheet in the Renukaswamy kidnapping and murder case, detailing the role of jailed Kannada superstar Darshan and others involved. The chargesheet also contains details of the brutal and inhuman torture that Renukaswamy had suffered till his death.

“After the attack by Darshan and his gang, Renukaswamy's chest bones were broken. His entire body has a total of 39 injuries. The victim also has a deep cut on his head,” the chargesheet states.

It was further stated that electric shocks were administered to Renukaswamy's genitals using a megohmmeter, an electrical device used to measure insulation resistance.

“Darshan and his gang damaged Renukaswamy’s testicles using the megaohm device,” the chargesheet states.

On June 9, Renukaswamy's body was found near a flyover in Bengaluru.

According to police, Renukaswamy, a fan of actor Darshan, was kidnapped and murdered by a gang at the behest of the actor after he allegedly sent abusive messages on social media to actor Pavithra Gowda, who is rumoured to be Darshan's partner.

Darshan is the second accused in the Renukaswamy murder case and his legal team is preparing a bail application. Quoting police sources, a India today The report said that it will not be easy to obtain bail as he has been charged in three new cases stemming from luxury treatment in prison.
