The new series will run on Amazon like the parent series.

According to information from Variety, Amazon's Prime Video is currently working on a “Reacher” spin-off. The new series is to be co-written by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wooton, Santora once developed the parent series and is still the showrunner. Further details about the plot of the spin-off are still being kept under wraps, but it is assumed that the series will revolve around Frances Neagley, who is played by Maria Sten in the main series.

“Reacher” is a success on Amazon, and a renewal was agreed even before the premiere of the second season. Child is the executive producer of “Reacher” alongside Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television. This series is produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance and CBS Studios (formerly Paramount Television Studios). Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the series' executive producers for Skydance Television. Ritchson will be involved in the series as an executive producer starting with the third season.

Near Margrave, Georgia, a man later identified as Joe Reacher is shot at midnight. The next morning, Jack Reacher arrives on a Greyhound bus and heads into town, where he is arrested for murder in a diner. He is taken to jail along with Paul Hubble, a banker who falsely confessed to the murder. The corrupt guard Spivey puts the two in the general ward, where Reacher brutally foils an assassination attempt. Hubble explains that he confessed to cover for a criminal organization that would otherwise have killed him and his family. After his release, Reacher is verbally threatened in town by the son of local inmate Kliner. When he later returned to the police station, he learns of a second murder. At the morgue, a discussion about the recent murder and another murder earlier in the week leads him to identify the first victim as his older brother Joe.
