Juliette Lewis talks about working with Peter Dinklage in “The Thicket” and explains her surprising exit from “Yellowjackets”: “I’m good for a series for two seasons”

Juliette Lewis has a very good reason why her riding skills are so impressive in her new thriller “The Thicket”.

“I'm third in the barrel race,” says Lewis in the latest episode of “Just for Variety.” “I was a horse rider. I grew up riding before I was 12. The first thing we did in Calgary was [where the movie was shot in the dead of winter] was to get on a horse. They wanted to test us to see how we ride. I got a very good rating for my riding.”

In the film directed by Elliott Lester (in theaters September 6), based on the book of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale, Lewis plays Cut Throat Bill, a brutal, hardened outlaw in the early 20th century who kidnaps a young girl (Esmé Creed-Miles). The girl's brother (Levon Hawke) hires a bounty hunter (Peter Dinklage) to rescue his sister.
