One person slightly injured in stabbing in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – UPDATE: Police said a minor was injured following a stabbing in Iowa City.

On Wednesday at 6:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center that involved stabbing.

A group of minors were involved in the fight, police said.

A minor had a stab wound.

First responders treated the victim on site.

The police are not releasing any further information and are investigating.

Police are investigating a stabbing near the University of Iowa campus in Iowa City.

According to a Hawk Alert from the university, officers were dispatched to the area around South Gilbert Street and East Burlington Street on Wednesday evening.

The first warning asked the population to avoid the area.

However, an update said people should resume normal activities and keep an eye on their surroundings.

Police have not released any information about possible arrests or injuries.
