21-year-old man charged with murder after fatal stabbing

A man has been charged with murder after a 41-year-old was fatally stabbed during a street fight.

Alan Sutton died on Sunday afternoon as a result of the incident, which occurred on Burton Road in Monk Bretton, near Barnsley.

Emergency services were called following reports of an altercation between a group of men. Mr Sutton was pronounced dead at the scene.

Callum Strachen, 21, of Burton Road, Barnsley, is due to appear at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on Thursday, South Yorkshire Police said.
