Denzel Washington-Jake Gyllenhaal: “Othello” sets Broadway premiere and venue

The previously announced Broadway revival of Othello with Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal and Molly Osborne have announced the opening date and location: The production will begin previews on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Barrymore Theater, before the premiere on Sunday, March 23.

The strictly limited 15-week engagement runs until Sunday, June 8th.

Producer Brian Anthony Moreland announced the dates and venue today. The Barrymore was most recently home to Othello almost 90 years ago, when a production was played in the repertoire with Macbeth in September and October 1935.

In the new edition, Washington plays Othello, Gyllenhaal plays Iago and Osborne plays Desdemona.
