Burnsville Police release more information on Red Oak Park shooting that left 5 people injured

Burnsville police have released more information about a shooting in Red Oak Park last week that left five teenagers injured.

As originally reported, Burnsville police responded to 911 calls reporting gunshots in Red Oak Park just after 8 p.m. Friday. Officials say the shots were fired in the direction of the park's basketball court.

Officers found four injured victims. Three of them were taken to local hospitals, the other was treated and released at the scene. Authorities added that a fifth person was taken to the hospital by private vehicle.

In a later update, authorities said the five victims were males between the ages of 16 and 19. Two of them are still in the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

Burnsville police added they interviewed 50 witnesses and determined several suspects were involved in the incident. No arrests have been made.

Authorities are asking the public for help in reviewing surveillance videos on Friday between 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
