US returnees: US returnees and driver die in traffic accident

Kozhikode: Two persons were killed when the taxi they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck in Mukkali near Vadakara on Wednesday morning.
The deceased are Drivers Jubin, 38, from Thalassery and passenger Shijil Kumar, 52, from Mahe. Shijil, an NRK employee living in the US, was on his way home to visit his sick mother after landing at Kozhikode airport.
The incident occurred at 6:15 am near Mukkali telephone exchange. Though the two were rushed to the hospital, they could not be saved.
Shijil had been living with his family in the US. Jubin was the block secretary of the Congress in Kodiyeri and chairman of the Youth Congress meeting in Thalassery. TNN
