Read on to learn more about Bloom, her career and her connection to NBC below.

She is a fellow actor

Bloom has been an actress for years, landing roles in series such as “The Affair” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Last year, her character Maud Beaton was introduced in the second season of “The Gilded Age.”

On Instagram, she regularly posted posts about the series and gave behind-the-scenes insights into her elaborate dresses.

The actor was most recently seen alongside Joey King and Logan Lerman in the Hulu miniseries “We Were the Lucky Ones,” which premiered in March.

In May, she posted a video from the set of the show on Instagram. “So grateful for this one. And these wonderful, talented people,” she captioned the post. “Wow, I love you! #wewereheluckyones. All episodes are now streaming in the US on @hulu.”

Bloom will next star alongside Sterling K. Brown and James Marsden in a new Hulu drama from “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman, Deadline reported earlier this year.

She celebrated the casting news on social media at the time. “I'm so excited to start this new project with such a fantastic team. Yay!” she cheered.

She has a musical background

Although her career has only really taken off in recent years, Bloom has been an actress since she was a child.

In July 2018, she uploaded an adorable throwback clip of herself singing in a musical as a child. “Nothing is as awkward as holding hands for a long time to make two 10-year-olds so anxious!!,” she joked in the caption.

She played Belle in a production of “Beauty and the Beast” in Bardstown, Kentucky. Bloom shared a photo of her as the princess on stage. “Every morning the same thing,” she said in the caption, quoting a line from the song “Belle.”

She is the daughter of the late NBC journalist David Bloom

The actress is the daughter of the late NBC journalist David Bloom, who was covering the Iraq War in 2003 when he died unexpectedly from a blood clot resulting from deep vein thrombosis. Bloom and her twin sister Christine Bloom were just 9 years old at the time, and her younger sister Ava Bloom was 3, mother Melanie Bloom recalled in a TODAY.com essay she wrote last year about her husband's death and deep vein thrombosis.

On April 3, 2006, the 20th anniversary of her father's death, the actress wrote a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram.

Bloom's post included a photo of her father, who appeared to be a reporter on the scene, a portrait of the Bloom family and a video montage of his reporting for NBC News and TODAY.

“20 years ago today my father died covering the Iraq War,” she began the caption. “I am forever proud of him, loved by his sense of humor, and in awe of his intelligence and commitment to the truth.”

She added: “We miss you every day dad. Thank you for being such an incredible role model and father. Very grateful for the time we had. Love you to the moon and back @todayshow.”

Hoda mentioned the late journalist during her interview with Theroux on TODAY.

“The reason we feel especially close to you is because the young lady you are engaged to happens to be the child of someone who worked here: David Bloom,” Hoda said.

“That's her,” Theroux replied. “David Bloom. Wonderful, yes.”

Hoda showed Theroux an old photo of father and daughter.

“A big part of the NBC family,” Theroux said.
