“Miesmuschel”: Now the Kaulitz brothers counter Thomas Gottschalk’s slanderous attack

“The younger generation doesn't even know who Jimi Hendrix is anymore. Unfortunately, that's what you have to say. Bill Kaulitz is more popular with them than Jimi Hendrix, which is bitter, but it's a fact,” Thomas Gottschalk recently complained in his podcast “Die Supernasen”. His colleague Mike Krüger had previously stated that the Tokio Hotel musicians are currently “really everywhere”.

It was not the first time that Gottschalk and Krüger had addressed the Kaulitz brothers in their podcast. The latter, however, seem to take the repeated jabs from their older colleagues with humor. In the current edition of their own podcast “Kaulitz Hills – Mustard from Hollywood”, Bill Kaulitz reads out a headline: “Here is a picture of a celebrity whose name I do not want to mention. I found the caption hilarious: '… is annoyed about the popularity of the Kaulitz brothers'.

“He is generally annoyed with everyone and anyone”

He is referring to Thomas Gottschalk, for whom such slander is characteristic of the Tokio Hotel singer: “I thought that was so apt! It was so good, I laughed myself silly about it.” Tom also finds Gottschalk's nagging “funny.” He believes: “He's annoyed at everyone and anyone and is just a grouch.” Bill repeated: “He's annoyed at the popularity of the Kaulitz brothers. Poor guy!”

Just a few weeks ago, Gottschalk and Krüger took the release of the Netflix reality series “Kaulitz & Kaulitz” as an opportunity to criticize the complete lack of work ethic of the younger generation. “Our friends, the Kaulitz brothers, I watched their documentary. They complain and are completely exhausted that they were on tour for five months and came home completely worn out,” Krüger reported, remembering building his own career as a live musician: “We did 120 concerts in a row, then we had two days off and then we did another 80 concerts. So from that point of view: Dear Kaulitz brothers, I don't want to know how many concerts you gave in those five months.” Certainly not one every day, but one every week, that would be a lot.

At the time, the “Supernasen” presenters did not want to comment in more detail on the documentary, in which Bill and Tom Kaulitz gave an insight into their professional and private lives. Because, as Krüger feared, “Then we'll have another shitstorm.”
