(CBS-DETROIT) – A man from southeast Michigan who allegedly a family member stabbed during a domestic dispute was charged, police said.

Brent Durrant, 33, was arraigned on Tuesday on charges of assault with intent to murder. His bail was set at $250,000.

On August 29 at approximately 7:30 p.m., St. Clair County officers responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Parker Road in Fort Gratiot Township after receiving a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a 56-year-old man with stab wounds and a 55-year-old woman with cuts to her hand. The suspect, identified as Durrant, is a family member of the victims, according to the sheriff's office.

Durrant left the apartment and, despite an extensive search, could not be immediately located. He was found without incident on August 31 and taken into custody.
