Israel hits targets in Lebanon after rocket attack

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israeli strikes hit targets of the Iran-backed Hezbollah movement in Lebanon on Wednesday after dozens of rockets were fired into northern Israel, setting off fires but causing no significant damage, the military said.

The military said about 65 missiles were fired from Lebanon, some of which were intercepted by Israel's air defense systems and some landed in open areas.

Rescue workers were said to be battling fires caused by falling projectiles. There were no reports of injuries.
