Merced County officials arrest murder suspect in connection with knife attack on Delhi man

September 4, 2024 – Officials with the Merced County Sheriff's Office report that officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 7000 block of Merced Avenue in Delhi early Tuesday morning. When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from stab wounds. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Our Investigation Office assisted in the investigation. Officers on the scene were able to identify the suspect as Emilio Marcelino Herrera Trujeque and our detectives immediately began their investigation. On Tuesday around 2:00 p.m., detectives found Trujeque and arrested him without incident. We are proud of our team and the quick and diligent work they did on this case!
