Husband stabs wife to death at Flushing spa in gruesome attack witnessed by staff and customers: NYPD – QNS

A man was arrested Tuesday evening for apparently stabbing his wife to death in a fit of rage at a Flushing spa, authorities said.

According to police sources, officers from the 109th District responded to a panicked 911 call that an employee was being assaulted at Bodywork Spa near the corner of Kissena Boulevard and Barclay Avenue in Flushing on September 3 at approximately 5:41 p.m.

Moments earlier, police said, 25-year-old Jiahi Ma allegedly entered the spa and began brutally stabbing his wife, 26-year-old Jui Mei Tang, while customers and Tang's colleagues were inside the store.

Police found Tang in the basement of the building, fighting for her life and suffering from severe stab wounds all over her body and neck. Emergency services took her to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Meanwhile, Ma was arrested by police at the crime scene. He was allegedly still holding a bloody knife in his hand.

Police cordoned off the spa and surrounding area until late Tuesday evening while they investigated the crime scene and questioned witnesses to the gruesome murder.

Police sources said the fatal attack was the result of an ongoing dispute between Ma and Tang, who both lived in the same house on Cherry Avenue in Flushing, but they did not provide any details about the exact motive.

Ma was charged with murder, threats, illegal possession of weapons and harassment.
