One dead in traffic accident in Cerro Gordo County – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – One person was killed in a crash that occurred early Wednesday morning in Cerro Gordo County, according to the Iowa State Patrol (ISP).

The driver of a 2022 Kia Telluride was traveling east on Avenue of the Saints near mile marker 195 when he left the road and entered the median around 12:30 a.m. for an “unknown” reason, according to ISP.

According to ISP, the car then crashed into a bridge pillar and caught fire. The driver was found dead in the car.

The identity of the driver is currently unknown.

The Floyd, Cerro Gordo and Worth County Sheriff's Offices assisted with this incident.
