Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal criticises Sunita Kejriwal for her ‘exoneration’ over Bibhav Kumar’s bail

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on Wednesday said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal was “relieved” that Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar, whom she had accused of attacking her, was released on bail.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sunita Kejriwal had shared a picture of Bibhav Kumar on X and captioned it, “A day of relief.”

Swati Maliwal had alleged that Kumar attacked her when she visited the Chief Minister's residence on May 13. She had filed a complaint against Kumar, following which he was arrested on May 18. However, Kumar was released on bail by the Supreme Court on Monday.

During the hearing, the court stated that Kumar had been in judicial custody for 100 days and a chargesheet had been filed.

“Injury (to Maliwal) is easy. It is a bail case. You should not fight it. You cannot keep a person in jail in such a case,” it said.

Taking a swipe at Sunita Kejriwal, Maliwal wrote in a post on X in Hindi: “The Chief Minister's wife, who was at home when I was beaten up, is very 'relieved'. (She is) relieved because the man who beat me in his house and misbehaved with me has been released on bail.”

She further said in the post that it was a “clear message” to everyone that they should “attack women” and that the Aam Aadmi Party would first troll the survivor, “completely ruin the survivor” and then “hire” her.an army of the most expensive lawyers in the country” to rescue the attacker.

“How can we expect respect for our sisters and daughters from those who find comfort in seeing such people? God sees all, justice will be done,” she added in the post.
