15-year-old stabs momo seller in Preet Vihar to avenge his mother's death

Delhi: A tragic incident took place in Delhi's Preet Vihar where a 15-year-old boy stabbed a momo seller to avenge his mother's death. Police reported on Wednesday that they solved the case within three hours of the crime. The victim, 35-year-old Kapil, was a resident of Jagat Puri and ran a momo shop there.

On Tuesday, he was attacked and stabbed multiple times, sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed to Hedgewar Hospital but succumbed to his injuries, according to a report by NDTV.

After the murder, the police quickly registered a case and began their investigation by analyzing CCTV footage from Kapil's house. Locals provided crucial information about Kapil, who was living alone after his wife recently left him and returned to Nepal. Police soon identified and arrested a 15-year-old boy, who confessed to the crime when questioned. The weapon used in the stabbing was recovered based on the boy's confession.

Accused blames Kapil for his mother's tragic death

The investigation revealed a heartbreaking motive for the murder. The teenager had previously worked at Kapil's momo shop along with his mother, who had died of electrocution just a month ago. The boy harbored a deep grudge against Kapil, whom he blamed for his mother's death, which led him to plan and execute the murder as an act of revenge.

MP stabbed in Momo shop

In a similar incident in Madhya Pradesh, a man was critically injured when four men stabbed him in Jabalpur on Tuesday, September 3. The attack took place at a momo shop in Chungi Naka area when the victim, Babbu Bhaat, refused to hand over money for liquor.

According to his father-in-law Phulwar Bhaat, he was alerted about the stabbing by a neighbour and rushed to the police to report the incident. However, Phulwar claimed that the police did not take the matter seriously, following which the family approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) office.

Victim’s neighbor describes horror

The victim's neighbour, Shubham Ahirwar, reported that they were returning from work and stopped at the momos shop where a group of men were drinking alcohol. The attackers, identified as Ateeq Ahirwar, Annu, Saurabh and Yogesh, demanded money from Babbu and Shubham. When they refused, the men turned violent. First, they beat Shubham and then stabbed Babbu seven times when he tried to intervene.

Madho Tal police have now arrested all four attackers. Despite the severity of his injuries, the victim's family claimed that Babbu was not immediately admitted to a hospital. Eventually, an ambulance was called to the SP office and he was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.
