The death of Andre “Big Daddy” Deron Cloud was announced by the church in a livestream. He died on August 31, 2024.

The family released a statement: “There is never a dull moment with our guy, Big Daddy. The family asks that you respect their privacy, which includes a time for mourning and grief. We have never stopped celebrating this life. Thank you, Lord, for the life you sent us. Thank you, Lord, for the life you gave us. Amen.”

Cloud founded the Soul Factory in 1996, after beginning his ministry as a minister years earlier. Before founding the Soul Factory and long after, Cloud evangelized on stage, writing and performing plays with a divine message.

He met his wife, Jill, at the local church and they married in 1991. Jill helped needy mothers in her neighborhood and taught Bible classes at her workplace before quitting to join the Soul Factory with her husband.

His death sparked an outpouring of tributes as people remember him as a loving father, husband, grandfather and, most importantly, their rock.

Pastor Cloud's influence extended far beyond the pulpit; he did so much for the church and always led with love and vision. It breaks my heart to hear this news. May you rest in peace, Deron”, says the homage.

“My love, prayers and condolences to Jill and all of you at Soul Factory 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 RIP Deron ❤️Great leader and funny, creative guy!” another tribute read.
