Kylee Piersol, Texas A&M University student who died in a car accident, is honored with Silver Taps Tribute

Kylee Elizabeth Piersol, a Texas A&M University (TAMU) student who died in a car accident before graduating, was honored with the Silver Taps award.

Piersol was studying at TAMU's College of Public Health and was scheduled to graduate in December when she was killed in a car accident in March.

The accident on March 9 ended the dreams of the aspiring nurse. She was 22.

A few months after her death, Kylee Piersol received her last honor in the Silver Taps Ceremony by the university. Other awardees include business student Thomas R. Connolly, industrial sales student Elshadai Bekele Getnet and public service and administration student Kevin Linn Palmer. The Silver Taps award is a final tribute to any Aggie who was pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at the time of death.

Piersol's family described her as a passionate, sincere baseball fanatic and a huge bookworm.

She loved music, basketball, volleyball and her family.
