MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Wednesday that all government officials who contributed to the escape of ousted Bamban Mayor Alice Guo (real name: Guo Hua Ping) will be fired and sued.

“All those who helped Alice Guo leave the Philippines illegally as a fugitive from justice will surely pay the price. Ang tanong niyo, sino sisibakin (Your question is, who will be fired?),” Marcos said in a casual interview on the sidelines of a briefing at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

“Hindi lang namin sila sisibakin, kakasuhan pa namin sila dahil ang kanilang ginawa ay labag sa batas against all interests of the Philippine justice system,” he added.

(We will not only fire them, we will sue them because their conduct is against the law and all interests of the Philippine justice system.)

Marcos had previously stated that he already had a “very good idea” of who was behind Guo's escape.

Guo fled the Philippines in July and was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia, at around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. She faces criminal charges for her alleged involvement in the illegal activities of the raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator hub in Bamban, Tarlac.
