Furtwangen: Perfect show in a vulgar dialect

Furtwangen (sk) The cabaret artist Özgür Cebe will present his program “Frei” on Friday, September 13th, from 8 p.m. in the Kulturfabrik Furtwangen. The Bielefeld-born Turk with Armenian and Kurdish roots combines three souls in his chest and offers verbal delicacies and cabaret that doesn't fit into any category.

With his program “Frei”, Özgür Cebe dissects entrenched cultural and religious issues as if with a scalpel of freedom of expression and is not afraid to look to the future. People in Germany live in a free country. They can say what they think, but they cannot do what they want. Freedom is not unlimited, because freedom ends where others are restricted by individual freedom. There are limits. With punch lines that break boundaries, Özgür Cebe questions current issues of digitalization, goes in search of the reason for the populists' success and for him it is clear: If there is a God, then he has a lot of humor. Otherwise he would not have created humans.

Multiple awards

The award-winning cabaret artist Özgür Cebe does not put his immigrant background in the foreground. He has a German operating system, but is trapped in oriental hardware, he says. In principle, he is a flying carpet with a VW engine. The “moving Muslim” is one of those stage people who manage to captivate an audience in a humorous and thoughtful way. He deliberately plays with his perfect German language. Sometimes he mixes it with a vulgar dialect and always appropriate facial expressions. Both of these allow his acting skills to shine through again and again, alongside his verbal acrobatics.

Cards are available at the advance booking offices in Furtwangen at Morys Hofbuchhandlung and in the Alle Welt-Laden as well as in Vöhrenbach at Schreibwaren Fürderer. Event information is available on the homepage www.kulturfabrik-furtwangen.de or by calling 07723 75 56.
