Teenager in critical condition after stabbing at high school in eastern Manitoba

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) of Manitoba, a 16-year-old is in critical condition after being stabbed at a high school in Cross Lake.

The Mounties said they received a report of a possible stabbing on the high school campus on Saggitawak Road around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and paramedics arrived at the scene and found a 16-year-old with life-changing injuries.

Through conversations with witnesses, police learned that a group of teenagers were on the school premises when another group of men appeared. According to reports, a fight broke out in which one teenager was seriously injured.

After being taken to Cross Lake Nursing Station, the teenager was flown by helicopter to Winnipeg, where he underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical condition.
