Former Bond actor Daniel Craig celebrated the premiere of his film “Queer” at the Venice Film Festival and not only scored points with his colleagues. He probably did not expect this response.

He not only has a license to kill: Former James Bond actor Daniel Craig (56) attracted everyone's attention with his coolness at the Venice Film Festival. He appeared with his wife Rachel Weisz (54) at the premiere of his new film “Queer”. It wasn't just their appearance that had a stunning effect.

In a cream-colored suit, white unbuttoned shirt, sunglasses and shaggy blonde hair, he amazed those present with his nonchalance. While he had chosen a more casual look with details such as the half-open shirt and loose hairstyle, his wife made a glamorous appearance. In a floor-length, royal blue glittering and strapless dress with a shimmering diamond necklace and a light wave, they walked across the red carpet to the film screening.

According to industry magazine Variety, Craig delivers the best performance of his acting career in “Queer”. In the romantic drama by Italian director Luca Guadagnino (53), he plays the former screen agent of American emigrant William Lee in Mexico City in the 1950s, who begins a romance with a younger man.

Standing ovations for Daniel Craig

The drama, with its explicit love scenes, thrilled a full cinema at its world premiere during the Lido Film Festival on Tuesday evening, September 3. The film, which is based on the novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs (1914-1997), received a standing ovation and cheers lasting around nine minutes.

The Brit countered the report, bowed, blew air kisses and hugged the director and co-star Drew Starkey (30). Craig's wife Rachel Weisz smiled proudly in the audience and was also visibly moved. The two British actors have been married since 2011 and have been parents of a daughter since 2018.
