Star of “1000-lb. Sisters” arrested at zoo for child endangerment and drug possession

ALAMO, Tenn. (LEX 18) — Reality star of the series “1000-lb. Sisters” and Kentucky native Amy Slaton Halterman was arrested at a Tennessee zoo on Monday after the Crockett County Sheriff's Department received a call about a visitor who had been bitten by a camel.

The agency reported that officers were called to Safari Park in Alamo, Tennessee, on Monday and upon arrival “were immediately surprised by suspicious odors coming from the guest's vehicle.”

Halterman and Brian Scott Lovvorn, who was reportedly in the vehicle, were subsequently arrested and charged with illegal possession of Schedule I and VI hazardous materials and two counts of endangering a child, authorities detailed.
