Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is accused of sexual assault, while Netflix has agreed to include the real names of the hijackers in the disclaimer for “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack.”

In the wake of the controversy over the names of the terrorists in “IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack,” Netflix has agreed to update the show's disclaimer to reveal the real names of the hijackers. The decision came after officials from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) met with Netflix representatives to discuss the alleged misrepresentation of facts in the new series.

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly is facing sexual harassment charges. According to reports, the actor has been charged with sexually harassing a woman on the pretext of offering her a film role. According to Malayalam regional channel Reporter Live, the complainant has named six members who allegedly sexually harassed her on the pretext of offering her an acting opportunity. The incident took place in Dubai last November.

In a chat with News18, Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas spoke about the challenges of being an outsider in the South Indian film industry, which is often dominated by actors from film families. Tovino explained, “If you come from a family with a film tradition, your first chance might be easier. But your second, third and overall career success depends on how good you are. It is very difficult for outsiders to get the first film, but once you prove yourself, it all depends on your talent and dedication. You might have a head start, but after that, everyone is on an equal footing. It all depends on how good you are.”

Naseeruddin Shah has claimed that he was “distraught” after the hijacking of IC814 in Kandahar in 1999. On Tuesday, the actor spoke at a press conference for his recently released show and recalled that he had feared a “wave of Islamophobia” after the shocking incident in 1999. The veteran actor mentioned that he was “terribly worried” and added that he had felt a sense of unease for a long time.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack has been making waves ever since its release. Amidst all the controversy, Captain Devi Sharan, the pilot of the hijacked flight, spoke about two incidents that were shown in the series but did not happen in reality. In the series, the pilot, played by Vijay Varma, was shown to have unblocked the blocked water pipes and received a greeting from the Foreign Minister after the siege was lifted. However, in a new interview, Devi Sharan revealed that these two incidents played out differently in real life.
