Police have arrested a final year student at O'Reilly Senior High School who reportedly stabbed and killed a classmate.

Citi News reported that there was a significant police presence at the school after the incident was reported. The deceased was identified as Edward Borketey Sackey.

According to initial reports, the two students were involved in a heated argument that escalated into a physical altercation and then a fatal stabbing.

The victim was taken to LEKMA Hospital by fellow students, but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The victim's father demanded justice and asked for an explanation from the school administration.

He also expressed his frustration with the police presence, which prevented him from entering the school during his stay.

Graphic Online reported that Stephen Abamfo, regional director of the Ghana Education Service for Greater Accra, assured an investigation into the incident and also ensured the safety of students at the school.

TV3 News reported that the brawl broke out during an argument that was believed to be about the couple's wealth.

According to a cousin of the deceased who witnessed the incident, the stabbing occurred during an argument with a fellow student.

She said the suspected murderer had threatened the deceased with violence before the fatal confrontation.
