Girl stabbed to death in Parnell Square attack released from hospital after 281 days

The young girl injured in the Parnell Street attack last November has been released from hospital.

The five-year-old girl spent 281 days in Temple Street Children's Hospital following a stabbing incident outside a school in Parnell Square.

In an update on the GoFundMe page set up for her care, the young girl's family announced that she was released on Friday and is now beginning rehabilitation.

There is hope that she will soon be able to swallow food, move her arms and legs, and make more sounds.

Two other young children and a carer were injured in the stabbing outside Coláiste Mhuire in Parnell Square.

Riad Bouchaker (50) is currently on trial. He is accused of three counts of attempted murder, the manufacture and possession of a kitchen knife, three counts of assault and one count of grievous bodily harm.
