“I am safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your support means everything. Peace and love to all,” he wrote.

A day after shots were reportedly fired outside his Canadian residence, Indian-born Canadian artist AP Dhillon assured his fans that he was fine and thanked them for their support.

According to media reports, Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the incident.

Popular Vancouver-based Punjabi singer Dhillon shared a message on his Instagram stories on Monday night following the alleged shooting.

“I am safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your support means everything. Peace and love to all,” he wrote.

The incident came weeks after Dhillon appeared in the music video for his song “Old Money” alongside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Shots were also fired outside Khan's Mumbai residence in April and the actor told police he believed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible.

With songs like “Brown Munde,” “Excuses,” and “Summer High,” Dhillon is a rising global star in the hip-hop scene.

The 31-year-old musician, whose real name is Amritpal Singh Dhillon, moved from Gurdaspur to Canada in 2015 to pursue his postgraduate degree in business administration and management.

Last year, Prime Video released a documentary series about his journey called “AP Dhillon: First of A Kind.”
