Man suffers ‘life-changing injuries’ after stabbing

A man was seriously injured after being stabbed near a market in Manchester.

The attack occurred on Dickenson Road, near Longsight Market in Manchester, at around 10.30pm BST on Monday, police said.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that police described as “life-changing.”

Greater Manchester Police said investigations were underway to establish the circumstances and identify those involved.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police.

Initial reports said a machete was used in the attack, but police said they had not found a weapon at this time.
