One person dies, two missing after boat crashes into dock in Old Saybrook

A Labor Day boating accident in Old Saybrook ended in tragedy. One person died and two others are missing.

The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when a boat carrying nine people crashed into the jetty, causing considerable damage.

At 1 a.m., authorities confirmed one death and two missing people.

Six survivors were taken to hospital. The boat captain is in critical condition. The condition of the other survivors is unknown. The identity of the dead man has not been disclosed.

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Old Saybrook Fire Department are investigating the cause of the accident.
