The court presided over by Isaac Addo allowed Salifu to post bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties after his lawyer requested bail.

It also ordered the prosecution to comply with disclosure requirements and adjourned the hearing to September 25, 2024.

The prosecution led by Chief Inspector Ebenezer Teye Okuffo told the court that the plaintiff, Ola Juwon, is a carpenter and resides in Okaishie, Accra, while Salifu lives in Komkomba Market, Accra.

According to Chief Inspector Okuffo, Juwon was rewarded for his work with aluminum scrap at 12:30 p.m. on July 28, 2024 and packaged for sale.

According to the prosecution, Juwon discovered that the scrap metal he had collected had disappeared.

The court heard that Juwon later met Salifu in Rawlings Park with some scrap metal.

According to prosecutors, Juwon suspected that the scrap metal belonged to him and confronted Salifu.

Salifu engaged in a fight with Juwon, grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the left side of his chest.

The prosecution stated that although the people were lured, they remained helpless because they were unable to separate Salifu and the plaintiff.

However, some witnesses intervened and took the scissors away from Salifu.

According to the prosecution, Salifu was admitted to the police hospital and later transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the plaintiff was released two weeks ago. –GNA
