Dortmund – Old dramas remade often work very well. Romeo and Juliet is a classic about enemies, love and stability. That is also what the new series from ZDFneo is about. The announced drama series “Love sucks” promises an exciting love story and with a prominent cast from other shows such as “Maxton Hall”. From Friday, October 11, The series is available in the ZDF media library.

ZDF starts new vampire series: “Maxton Hall” star in charge

It is a tragic drama: the story between two lovers from different worlds. Ben and Zelda fight each other in a boxing booth at the fair and immediately fall in love. The problem: Ben is a vampire and Zelda is a mortal. Despite the enmity between their two families, they fight for their dangerous relationship (more TV news at RUHR24).

The new vampire series already celebrated its premiere at the current Munich Film Festival. From October, the mystical drama will be shown on ZDFneo and in the ZDF media library. The series consists of eight parts in total and is supposed to be a remake of Romeo and Juliet. But not only the story, but also the actors are unknown.

Actor in “Love Sucks” was already seen in the Dortmund crime scene

Among others, “Tatort” actor Rick Okon, who many also know as Dortmund Chief Inspector Jan Pawlak, plays a role in the ZDF series. In an interview with RUHR24, the “Tatort” star revealed that he had “never played this kind of role before and no one had ever seen me like this before.”

Other roles were also filled with prominent actors. The male role “Ben” is played by Damian Hardung, who already had a similar role in the series “Maxton Hall – The World Between Us” on Prime Video.

“Maxton Hall – The World Between Us” is also about a difficult love story. Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten) comes from an Armenian background and had to work hard from the beginning to achieve success for Maxton Hall. Not so the rich heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung). Nevertheless, it works when the two have to spend time together.

The ARD will also celebrate success with a vampire series in early 2024: “Oderbruch” will even get a second season.
