Family of Indian woman who fell into a sinkhole in Kuala Lumpur performs final rituals at tragic site

The Family one Indian woman which tragically disappeared after falling into a hole in the ground in Kuala Lumpur visited the place to find the last Rituals.
Vijaya Lakshmi Gali48, fell into the eight-meter-deep hole on August 23. A search operation initiated immediately after the incident was called off after nine days for safety reasons.
Gali's husband, son and sister were among those present to pay their final respects on September 1. The family also collected soil from the gravesite during the ceremony before departing for India at 5 p.m. the same day.
In videos shared on social media, the family can be seen performing rituals that include lighting oil lamps and ringing bells as part of Hindu tradition.

People expressed their condolences to the family, with one person commenting on YouTube: “This can happen to any of us. Since the tragedy and the long search that I have followed every day with hope was cordoned off… I no longer dare to walk across a hole in the ground. Too cruel.” Another added: “So sad. I hope we don't forget that the road is now someone's resting place too.”
Gali was from Andhra Pradesh. Despite using various methods, including sniffer dogs and divers, the authorities were unable to find her body.
On 31 August Mustafa ZalihaMinister in the Department of the Prime Minister (Federal Territories), announced that the search and rescue operation had been terminated.
The day before, on 30 August, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reassured the public that Kuala Lumpur was safe for tourists, and explained that an investigation into the cause of the sinkhole had been conducted. He noted that a geotechnical study had identified the cause of the sinkhole and confirmed the safety of the area. Anwar also stressed the importance of promptly addressing and closely monitoring all locations at risk of sinkholes, and urged the City Council and the Prime Minister's Office to act swiftly.
