The Pakistan cricket team is facing tough times both on and off the field. Along with numerous changes in the board and coaching staff, the team's performance is also deteriorating with each match. After a shocking defeat to Bangladesh in the first Test, which was also their first defeat against them in the longest format, the Pakistan team is making headlines again with their poor performance in the second Test. In the ongoing match in Rawalpindi, captain Shan Masood has been heavily criticised for his poor fielding.

On the third day of the second Test against Bangladesh, Masood dropped a sitter, giving batsman Hasan Mahmud another life.

The incident occurred during the 75th over of Bangladesh's first innings when Hasan mis-finished a ball from pacer Khuram Shahzad. The flat shot went straight to Masood, who was running for cover. The Pakistan captain tried his best but could not catch the ball as it landed on the turf.

This blunder by the captain shocked all his teammates deeply. The video quickly spread like wildfire on social media and fans did not miss an opportunity to criticise Masood.

This was the second time that Pakistan made a fielding error in the match, with Saud Shakeel having dropped an easy catch from Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam on Saturday.

The disappointment was clearly visible on captain Shan Masood's face when Shakeel missed the catch and even the commentators said it was a “regular catch”. Even Richard Kettleborough could not hide his reaction to the missed opportunity.

Speaking of the game, Litton Das scored a fighting hundred to help Bangladesh move from a precarious 26-6 to 262 on Sunday, a remarkable turnaround that put the second Test in Rawalpindi within reach for both teams.

At the end of the third day, Bangladesh struck back to leave Pakistan trailing by a sluggish 9-2, with opener Abdullah Shafique dismissed on three points and nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad dismissed without scoring – both goals scored by pacer Hasan Mahmud.
