What is the story

A recent Reddit post has revealed an interesting connection between Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

The post titled “The connection between SRK’s father and Aamir’s great-uncle” revealed that SRK’s late father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, had once contested the Lok Sabha elections from Gurgaon in 1957.

His opponent was none other than Abul Kalam Azad of the Congress, Aamir’s great-uncle.

Taj Mohammed Khan failed to secure any votes

According to a study from 2024 Amar Ujala Azad reportedly won the 1957 Lok Sabha elections from Gurgaon with 191,221 votes.

His opponent from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS), Moolchand, received 95,553 votes.

What is striking about this election, however, is that independent candidate Taj Mohammed Khan did not receive a single vote, which is a unique record in Indian electoral history.
