Teenager dead after shooting in east Las Vegas condo, police said

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A teenager is dead after a shooting in east Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lieutenant Jason Johansson spoke to the media Monday evening to provide details of the investigation.

Johansson said the shooting occurred around 4:42 p.m. in the 6100 block of Kepler Drive.

Police received reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the area. When officers arrived, they were directed to an upstairs apartment where they found a teenager, reportedly high school age, suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to UMC where he was pronounced deceased due to his injuries.

Johansson said the investigation is still in its early stages and police are in the process of interviewing the other teens who were in the apartment at the time of the shooting.
