A day after gunshots were fired outside AP Dhillon's house on Victoria Island in Vancouver, Canada, the Punjabi singer said on Monday that “he is safe.” A man named Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, is said to have claimed responsibility for the incident.

“I am safe, my people are safe. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me. Your support means everything,” Mr Dhillon wrote on Instagram.

An alleged post is circulating in which gangster Rohit Godara claims that the shooting took place in two locations in Canada – Victoria Island and Woodbridge Toronto. According to the post, he fired outside the singer's house after he appeared in a music video with actor Salman Khan. The man, who claims to be linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, also threatened to kill the singer in the alleged post.

Known for his blend of 80s-style synth-pop and Punjabi music, AP Dhillon's rise to the world stage has been meteoric, thanks to songs like “Brown Munde,” “Excuses,” “Summer High,” “With You,” “Dil Nu,” and “Insane,” among others.

In November last year, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for an alleged shooting at singer Gippy Grewal's home in Canada. The alleged incident took place in Vancouver's White Rock neighbourhood.

In April, two motorcyclists opened fire outside Salman Khan's residence at Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai's Bandra area. Mumbai Police declared jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi as “wanted accused” in connection with the incident.
