Israeli soldiers open fire on journalists in Jenin |

On Monday, Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition at Palestinian journalists and chased them with their bulldozers as the army destroyed shops, roads, infrastructure and private property in Jenin in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) said the soldiers fired live ammunition at journalists, injuring journalist Shatha Hanaisha and AFP chief photographer Ronaldo with shrapnel.

WAFA added that the soldiers attempted to ram a group of journalists with an armoured military bulldozer while they were documenting the invasion and unfolding incidents.

In addition, the army threatened many journalists with execution if they did not leave the area to prevent them from documenting the escalating human rights violations.

The soldiers destroyed the cinema roundabout in the city center and the roads leading to it, as well as the sidewalks and stalls in front of the shops on Nablus Street, and demolished shops, as part of their sixth consecutive day of offensive on Jenin, part of an offensive that has already caused massive destruction to infrastructure and public and private property.

Israeli aggression against the West Bank since last Wednesday morning has resulted in the deaths of 31 citizens, including 18 in Jenin province, 5 in Tulkarem, 4 in Tubas and 3 in Hebron, bringing the death toll in the West Bank to 682 since October 7, 2023.
