Man killed in car crash in Buchanan County

BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) – A 26-year-old man is dead after a crash in Buchanan County early Sunday.

Deputies arrived at 5:17 a.m. in the area of ​​Quasqueton Avenue and Linn-Buchanan Road, north of Walker.

The sheriff's office says Kyle Decker was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Sound on Quasqueton Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle while cornering. The sheriff's office says Decker's truck went into the south ditch, entered a driveway into a field and flipped onto its roof.

The sheriff's office says Decker was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle in the crash. They say he died of his injuries at the scene.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office, Walker Fire Department, Center Point Ambulance, Linn County Coroner and local EMS also arrived at the scene.
