21-year-old woman from Texas allegedly stabbed her mother to death

A 21-year-old Texas woman is accused of stabbing her mother to death and faces murder charges.

Rachel Zamarripa was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 31, according to online jail records. KSAT, KTSA and News 4 San Antonio reported that she is accused of killing her mother, Linda Zamarripa, 58, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

According to jail records, Rachel is charged with first-degree murder, but it is not immediately clear whether she has pleaded guilty or retained an attorney.

KSAT reported, citing the sheriff's office, that Rachel was her mother's caregiver before her death.

As the outlet reported, officers claimed the suspect called 911 and reported that she had stabbed a family member.

Linda suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene after being found by officers, News 4 reported.

Citing officials, News 4 reported that three other adults were home at the time of the alleged stabbing.
