Johnny Gaudreau's sister has written a heartbreaking obituary for her brothers after they were hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver the day before their wedding.

Katie Gaudreau shared the moving tribute on Monday morning, describing Johnny, 31, and Matt, 29, as “the absolute best big brothers a little girl could ask for.”

The duo was hit while cycling in Oldmans Township, Salem County, shortly before 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

Both were supposed to be witnesses at their sister's wedding on Friday afternoon. However, the wedding was cancelled after the tragedy.

She said: “To know these two was to love them. I have no words to express the bond my family had.”

“The whole world knows that without Matty there would never have been a John and without John there would never have been a Matty.”

“I will take the best possible care of Mom, Dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline and your babies.”

The driver, 43-year-old Sean M. Higgins of Woodstown, New Jersey (pictured), is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and is not eligible for bail.

The wedding was not only going to be a special day for Johnny to be part of the bridal party, but also for him as he would be able to watch his almost two-year-old daughter Noa walk down the aisle as a flower girl.

His six-month-old son Johnny was to wear the rings and his wife Meredith was Katie's maid of honor.

The two brothers were struck and killed by another vehicle on Pennsville Auburn Road near Stumpy Lane.

The driver, 43-year-old Sean M. Higgins of Woodstown, New Jersey, is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. He has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter and is not eligible for bail.

Johnny's wife Meredith described him as “the best father… and best partner to navigate parenthood together.”

“John never missed a single appointment. He was the best at rocking the baby to sleep and he was the apple of Noa's eye. I love how much she looks like him.”

Matthew leaves behind his wife Madeline just over three years after their wedding.

To make matters worse, it was revealed that Madeline is currently pregnant with the couple's first child.
